A six year old boy in the U.S. attempted to drive himself to school after playing Grand Theft Auto and Monster Jam.
On Monday morning in Virginia, a six year old child missed his bus to school. Most children probably wouldn’t mind the idea of having a day off school, but not this one.
Hoping not to miss P.E and the school breakfast, the boy stole the keys to the family’s vehicle, a 2005 Ford Taurus, and drove nearly six miles in the direction of his school.
Despite managing to avoid other cars and regaining control after leaving the road twice, the boy’s epic journey ended after he crashed into a utility pole a mile and a half away from school. This did not stop the boy, who then tried to finish his journey on foot.
When interviewed by the police, who said the boy suffered only minor injuries, the boy said he had learnt how to drive after playing Monster Jam and Grand Theft Auto.
His parents have since been charged with Child Endangerment.
Chuck Wilkins, Northumberland County Sheriff said:
This really is a story of miracles. The Lord was with him, along with everybody else on the highway.
