Norteno means Northerner. Nortenos came from Northern California, whilst Surenos from Southern California. These two gangs always had a budding rivalry, in prisons, and on the streets. Nortenos had started in the prisons, where Nuestra Familia was located. La Eme was a gang within the prisons to help protect the Hispanics. Nortenos had broke away from this because they were treated unfairly, and the Sureno's felt they were superior to the Nortenos. There was a lot of tension and violence between Sureno's and Norteno's in the prisons. The Nortenos brought this violence and attitude to the streets, while high ranking members in the prison had sent out orders to the members on the streets.
Hector Cadena was born in Northern California. He grew up with no mother, and a father who was rarely at his home. His father was apart of the Nuestra Familia. Hector grew up around the gang culture, and became a hardened gangster because of this. Hector was affiliated with a small Norteno gang called North Side Vatos Locos. He joined this gang at the age of 15. Hector had rose through the ranks, and eventually became a shot caller.
Hector was now 21, and had a big idea brewing in his head. He was going to rob a rival Sureno's home, and take any stashed drugs or guns, or money. Hector and other high ranks had set the plan into action. Later on that night, Hector and three other insiders went to the Sureno's home. One member picked the lock, while the others kept a look out. On the other side of the road, an old woman was looking out the window, observing the members trying to break into the home, she immediately called the police. Unfortunately, Hector and his men did not notice the woman calling the police. The men successfully got inside the home, and started scavenging the house for any useful items. After a while, police sirens wail outside the home. "Shit!", Hector yelled out. The men were surrounded, and had no where to go. Hector had tried to sneak out of a back window, and ended up shooting at the cops. They tazed Hector, and he fell to the ground, stiffened from the shock. The other men with him were also eventually caught. Hector was to serve 4 years in San Quentin Prison, for home invasion and armed robbery. Shortly after Hector had received his sentence, Diego, his younger brother, moved away to Temple, Los Santos.
Day 1: As soon as Hector had got into the prison yard, he noticed it was a race war. You had blacks over here, Hispanics over there, white over there. Hector was then approached by Jose Morales. Jose Morales was an intimidating figure, tall, fat, and his body covered in tattoos. Jose was a Nuestra Familia member. Hector soon began to hang with the Hispanics, primarily the Nuestra Familia members within the prison.
Day 35: Hector became associated with the Norteno’s in the prison, and was soon obtaining knowledge from the other gang members. Hector learned that he had to shortest sentence of all the other members, the crew looked to Hector to bring the gang activity to the outside world.
End of Year 1: Jose Morales had received an assault order from one of the generals at Pelican Bay Prison. Jose then told Hector to carry out the assault on a rival Sureno.
Next day, 1:52 P.M.: Hector had received a shank from Jose and waited anxiously in the prison yard to see the rival gang member. When Hector spotted the rival, he crept up slowly and unnoticed. Hector then shanked the Sureno twice in the arm, once in the thigh, and once in the neck to finish the job.
Next day: Hector had now gained a lot of respect and confidence from the other members, and thought he was perfect to bring the gang to the streets.
Year 2; Day 70: The higher ranks at Pelican Bay had heard about Hector’s success within the prison and agreed he could bring the Norteno’s gang to the outside.
End of Year 2: Hector now began to plot his actions when he got out. His began to communicate with his brother, who began to spread the word and make small recruitments.
Year 3; Day 87: Hector began obtaining knowledge that the Nuestra Familia was ran like an army, and he set himself on becoming a great leader, and not letting the higher ranks down.
End of Year 3: Hector was becoming more and more respected within the Nuestra Familia. Because of a brutal attack on a rival gang member, Jose had got sent to Pelican Bay, and served life. Hector was now the most respected at San Quentin. He was responsible for receiving the orders from Pelican Bay, and carrying them out in San Quentin.
Year 4; Day 36: Diego had contacted Hector in San Quentin, and had told him he had a small structure for the gang, it was just a matter of time before Hector came out and things could really take off. As soon as Hector got out, they had drug connections, inside information about the Nuestra Familia, and the new outsiders who had weapons.
Year 4; Day 245: Hector’s sentence was nearing to an end, and was looking forward to running his own gang on the outside. This gang would be the street version of Nuestra Familia, located in Temple, Los Santos. The gang would be called Temple Drive Norteno X4.
Last Day: On Hector’s last day, he had made contact with Jose. Jose was very confident in Hector that he would be able to run operations on the outside. Hector was anxious to get out and take over the drug trade, and territories.
When Hector had got out, things had skyrocketed. Lionel Sanz, an Nuestra Familia OG had come out of jail, and aided Hector and his brother Diego with the gang. These three generals had enforced strict rules amongst the other members. Hector had started taxing dealers and prostitutes in his varrio. Hector and his gang are looking to grow and become one of the strongest gangs in Los Santos.
